Die Geowissenschaft untersucht u.a. den Aufbau, die Struktur und die Geschichte der Erde, die Entwicklung der Kontinente und Ozeane, die Bildung und Zerstörung von Gebirgen und die Entstehung von Ablagerungsräumen und Sedimenten untersucht.
Darüber hinaus werden die physikalischen Eigenschaften der Erde untersucht und dabei grundlegende Fragen über die physikalische und thermische Entwicklung der Erde und den Aufbau der Kontinente bearbeitet.

Geosciences explores e.g. the structure and history of the earth, the development of continents and oceans, the formation and destruction of mountains and the emergence of depositional environment and sediments.
Further the physical features of the earth are explored and basic questions of the physical and thermal development of the earth and the structure of the continents are discussed.
