In dem zweigeteilten Rennen, das wegen eines Unfalls und der erforderlichen Reparatur der Leitplanken für fast vier Stunden unterbrochen wurde, hatten Fässler/Winkelhock zwar im zweiten Rennabschnitt über zwei Stunden die Nase vorn, doch ein 21-Sekunden-Abstand aus dem ersten Teil bedeutete in der Addition 13 Sekunden Rückstand auf den siegreichen Porsche.
Der zweite Phoenix-Audi mit Christian Mamerow (D) und René Rast (D) erreichte Rang acht.

In the split race that was interrupted for almost four hours due to an accident requiring repairs of the guard rails Fässler/Winkelhock were the front runners in part two for more than two hours but a 21-second gap from part one meant a total gap of 13 seconds to the victorious Porsche.
