Hello, this is my first post in the forum.
I would like to know what is the meaning of the variations that appear right next to the German word on every entry of the dictionary.
For example:
Lehrer(in) <-s, -; -, -nen>
There is an "s"' then two blank spaces, then "nen".

Thanks.

Hi Andres,

the "s" is the gender - der Lehrer - des Lehrers
the "nen" is the plural for the female version: die Lehrerin - die Lehrerinnen

Best regards,

Thanks. So the first "s" refers to the genitive then.

This is odd: I found those letters next to the German-Spanish version of the dictionary. The German-English version just has <s, ->.
One would say the German-Spanish version is more complete.
