Die blinkenden Lämpchen der Kontrollräume, die glatten Betonoberflächen der Kühltürme und Kraftwerkskuppeln, Brennstäbe in Reih und Glied – all das vermittelt die Illusion einer Kontrollierbarkeit, die diese Großtechnologie eben nicht hat und niemals haben kann.
Dabei zeigt sich aber auch die Ambivalenz, die von der Atomenergie ausgeht:Einerseits die Faszination, die sich aus der utopischen Idee und der menschlichen Schaffenskraft speist, andererseits die Ahnung einer monströsen Selbstüberschätzung und Unbeirrbarkeit.
Und über alledem steht eine hermetische Abgeschlossenheit und ein weitgehender Ausschluss der Öffentlichkeit.
