Missionarisch-Ethnologisches Museum
Das Ethnologische Museum wurde am 12. November 1926 von Papst Pius XI. mit Motu Proprio Quoniam tam praeclara bei Abschluss der Missionarischen Weltausstellung gegründet, die auf Wunsch eben dieses Papstes im Jubeljahr 1925 stattgefunden hatte.
Am 1. Februar 1927 wurde das Museum mit Sitz im Lateranpalast eingeweiht, wo es bis 1963 blieb.
