Lactobacillus kefir wurde als Biokatalysator ausgewählt, da dieser Organismus über eine Reihe von Oxidoreduktasen verfügt, die asymmetrische Synthesen mit hohen Enantioselektivitäten ermöglichen.
Mit Hilfe von Lactobacillus kefir wurden neue Verfahren zur effektiven enantiomerenreinen Synthese von 1-(R)-(4-Chlorphenyl)-Ethanol, von 6-Chlor-(3R,5S)-Dihydroxyhe...Butylester und von 4-Chlor-3-(S)-Hydroxybutter... aus den entsprechenden prochiralen Ketonen ohne zusätzliche organische Lösungsmittel ausgearbeitet.
Die Edukte wurden dabei als reine Phase „mikrodispersiv“ im Bioreaktor zur Verfügung gestellt.

For this, the substrates were provided “microdispersive” as pure phase in the bioreactor.
