Die Simulation der Keimbildung und der Kornbewegung wurde über Softwaremodule realisiert, die Vorhersagen zu Korngrößenverteilung und Makroseigerung während der Erstarrung erlauben.
Dieses Modell wurde im Verbund mit anderen Modellen der Projektpartner von Teilprojekt 1 des TFB63 "Praxisrelevante Modellierungswerkzeuge" zur Definition geeigneter Prozessparameter für neue Stahlwerkstoffe beim Strangguss eingesetzt.

Simulation of nucleation and grain movement has been achieved using a software module which allows predictions about grain size distribution and macrosegregation during solidification.
This model is used together with models from other project partners from Sub-Project 1 of TFB63 "Practice-related Modelling Tools" for the definition of appropriate process parameters in continuous casting of new steel materials.

Hierfür wird eine Formschalengeometrie verwendet, die die parallele Analyse sowohl der gerichteten als auch einkristallinen Erstarrung ermöglicht.

1 ) Die Experimente auf TEXUS-49 beschaeftigen sich mit der Erstarrung einer transparenten Legierung, mit der Signaluebertragung in Zellen des Immunsystems, mit der Messung des Dendriten-Wachstums als Funktion der Unterkuehlung einer Metall-Legierung bei reduzierter Schwerkraft und mit der Interaktion keramischer Partikel mit einer fortschreitenden Erstarrung.

Within the scope of Sub-Project 5 of TFB63 this model is integrated with the macroscopic process simulation MAGMASOFT© for investigation into the local interrelationships between solidification, graphite precipitation and feeding with highly alloyed kinds of cast iron.

Dabei stehen neben der experimentellen Simulation der Erstarrung die Warm- und Kaltumformprozesse sowie Glühprozesse und deren numerische Simulationen im Vordergrund.
Die experimentelle Simulation der Erstarrung im System Fe-Mn-C findet im Erstarrungslabor des Instituts für Eisenhüttenkunde in Teilprojekt B1 statt.

Here the focus is put, aside from the experimental simulations of solidification, on the warm and cold forming processes as well as on annealing processes and their numerical simulations.
The experimental simulation of solidification in the Fe-Mn-C system takes place in the solidification lab of the institute for metallurgy in sub-project B1.
