Kurt Kühne errichtete Gebäude seiner Bestimmung übergeben und war bis 1968 als Volksküche in Benutzung.
Anschließend wurde das Gebäude von der ESG als Bürogebäude mit Probelokal für die Musikkapelle teilweise umgebaut.
Nach jahrelanger Suche nach einem geeigneten Objekt für das architekturforum wurde 1997 seitens der Stadt Linz beschlossen, die Volksküche anzukaufen und sie den beiden Vereinen (architekturforum und Galerie Maerz) zur Verfügung zu stellen.

Subsequently, the building was partially rebuilt by the ESG (the city power company) as an office building with a rehearsal room for the company band.
After years of searching for suitable premises for the Architecture Forum, the city of Linz decided in 1997 to purchase the former soup kitchen and place it at the disposal of the two associations (Architecture Forum and Galerie Maerz).
