Die WSL und der Fledermausschutz des Kantons Solothurn untersuchten in den Jahren 2005 und 2006 im Rahmen der Pilotstudie « Connectivity of linear and patchy landscape elements exploitable by bats » den Talkessel im Gebiet zwischen Herbetswil und Balsthal ( Kanton Solothurn ) auf die räumliche Aktivität der Fledermäuse.
