His occupation led Richard Angst to different countries in the next few years, among others he photographed documentaries in Borneo, the Himalayas and in Japan.
He came back to Germany in 1939 and launched his great career as a head cinematographer for feature movies.

1939 kehrte er wieder nach Deutschland zurück und lancierte seine grosse Karriere als Chef-Kameramann für Spielfilme.
