GtCPES bildet eine Fass-ähnliche Struktur aus, wobei die Unterseite des Fasses geschlossen, die Oberseite geöffnet ist.
Im Innenraum des Fasses können Moleküle wie das Pigment Phycoerythrobilin gebunden und transportiert werden.
